Please join us on Sunday, May 6, at 6pm, in the SOCC Gym, as we say THANK YOU to Dan Cooke! Dan has accepted a pulpit position in his home town of Galitan, Tennessee. Dan will continue as campus minister here through graduation on May 12. His last official day will be Sunday, May 13. The meat and dessert will be provided and we ask that you bring the side dishes to share! Notes of blessing and/or a love offering towards a money tree to express our appreciation for his years of service may be given to Beau Davis, or Laurie Templeton.

Sunday evening April 22, at 6:00 pm there will be a congregational meeting to discuss the possible purchase of a 66 acre parcel of land just north of the church building. Before any final decision is made, the elders would like input from the congregation. It has been 2 ½ years since the first inquiry was made and now the sellers are ready to move forward and are asking the church to enter into a contractual agreement to purchase the land. If the 66 acres is purchased there are no immediate plans to build a building or do anything with the property in the foreseeable future. This is a strategic move with long term consideration. In an effort to be as transparent as possible the elders encourage your comments and questions.

The seniors will host a Fun & Fellowship Friday, April 27 at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Room. In addition to the potluck supper and games we will have a program on how seniors can avoid falls to be presented by Jacque King. We invite everyone to this informative program which includes good food and fun games to boot. See you there.
