The Seniors will host a Fun and Fellowship gathering in the Fellowship Room, Friday February 24th starting at 6:30pm.The meal will be served at 6:30 and the games will begin after the meal. There will be no planned entertainment. Bring your favorite dish for the pot luck and your favorite game for the fun and come enjoy yourself. See you there.

On Sunday, February 26, 2012, the Children’s Ministry will host a potluck dinner from 12 pm to 2 pm in the Fellowship Room. This dinner and meeting is for parents, children from 2 years old through 5th grade, and our incredible teachers. The tentative Children’s Ministry Summer Calendar will be presented, and this gathering is intended to give our community time to break bread, brainstorm, and be together. Everyone is invited to participate in the 5th Annual SOCC Chili Cook-off sponsored by the Home Group Ministry on Sunday Night, MARCH 4, 5:30-7:00pm. Register your chili entry online by February 29th. See the calendar link on our website: www.singingoaks.org. Recognition will be given to the best tasting and to the hottest chili entries. If you are not bringing chili please bring sandwiches, chips, veggies, or dessert.
If you are new to SOCC or are not connected to a Home Group, you will have an opportunity to meet Home Group leaders and/or to join a Home Group. If you are currently involved in a Home Group, but would like to make a switch, this would be a great time to find a new group.

Soon there will be a training session for anyone interested in working with the jail ministry at the Denton County Jail. If you would like to participate in this important Singing Oaks ministry please contact Don Stinger 940.387.8636, for more information.

The Senior’s Sweetheart Banquet will be Saturday, February 11, at 6:00pm. Come a little early and have your picture taken. A catered meal will be served and entertainment will be provided by The Gentlemen Four Gospel Quartet singing your favorite gospel and country songs. To help us plan for the meal please let the church office know (940-387-4355) by Monday, February 6th if you are coming and also if you need help with transportation. As an alternative we will also have a sign up table by the coffee bar.
