“Welcome boys and girls, men and women of all ages!”
If you have ever attended a traveling circus you have probably heard this proclamation. These words are certainly apropos for the ringmaster as he beckons all who want to partake of the wonder and magic inside the Big Tent. As you hearken to the ringmaster’s call total strangers greet you with warm smiles and bright eyes with eager anticipation for your arrival. Everyone in the traveling show is excited for their opportunity to share with you and happy for you to walk away carrying a bit of their zestful exuberance as you go on your way. And you are happy to oblige them because this whole experience started with this one word – Welcome!

How many people made New Year’s Resolutions this year? The promises of losing weight, having greater financial discipline, and spending more time with the family are among the typical resolutions that people express. I have expressed all three of these myself in times past. But, like you, I have also expressed a shrug of defeat and a sigh of frustration when those resolutions did not materialize in my life.

Oh, the Holidays are upon us again and with the Christmas season in full swing there will be much partying and eating and drinking and fellowshipping. Last night I hit my 4th part of the season and Christmas is still a whole week away. I enjoy all the get-togethers and hanging with friends and loved ones but for many, the whole reason this Holiday season is worthwhile is because of the GIFT RECEIVING GIVING!
