New Preaching Minister - Ross Thomson

The Elders are excited to announce that Ross Thomson has accepted our invitation to become our Preaching Minister.  Ross comes to us from Bammel Church of Christ in Houston.

The Thomson family will be joining us on June 1, 2008 to begin their ministry at Singing Oaks. Please keep the Thomson family in your prayers as they make preparations to join us then.

Ross Thomson was born in Scotland. At the age of four, his family moved to Toowoomba, Australia. It was there that Ross and his family came in contact with the gospel through the work of Herald of Truth television. Ross was baptized into Christ at the age of 13. In 1975 his family moved to Salisbury, Rhodesia to begin mission work among the Shona tribe.
 

Ross moved to the States to study for the ministry in 1979 and obtained a B.A. and a M.Th. from Harding University and did further postgraduate work at Rice University. In 1989 Ross married the former Christine Echols and moved to Alice, Texas, where he preached for the Morningside Drive congregation.

Since, Ross has preached for Brooks Avenue Church of Christ in Raleigh, NC, Northlake Church of Christ in Atlanta, and Bammel Church of Christ in Houston.

Ross and Christine have 3 children - Joshua, Savannah, and Justin.
